Affirmism — Privacy Policy

Soulful Healing LLC (“we,” “our,” or “us”) built the Affirmism app as a personal meditation and affirmation tool. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app collects, how it is used, how it is protected, and your choices regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Affirmism is designed with privacy as a core principle. The app collects and stores the following information:

Name and email address — optionally provided during onboarding to personalize your experience (e.g., greeting you by name). You may leave these fields blank. If provided, your name and email may also be shared with our email service provider, Kit (Kit Inc.), for the purpose of sending you occasional app updates, meditation tips, and wellness content, and — if you start a free trial or subscription — emails relevant to your subscription status. See the “Data Sharing” section below for details.

Subscription status — if you start a free trial or subscription, the app processes your subscription status (for example: which plan you chose, whether your free trial is active, whether you became a paying subscriber, or whether your trial ended without converting). Payment itself is handled entirely by Apple through your Apple Account; we never receive or store your payment card details. If you provided your email address, your subscription status may be shared with Kit so that the emails we send you are relevant to whether you are trialing, subscribed, or no longer subscribed.

Subscription identifiers — when you start a subscription, Apple provides identifiers for that subscription (a transaction identifier and an anonymous account token). If you have provided an email address, we store these identifiers alongside it on our own secure server so that we can recognise which account a subscription belongs to, and so that changes to your subscription — such as a renewal, cancellation, or refund — can be reflected in the emails we send you. These identifiers contain no payment details and cannot be used to identify you outside of our own records.

Voice recordings — audio files you record when creating personal affirmations. These are stored in the app’s local Documents directory on your device only.

Written affirmation text — the affirmations you write or select from templates during the creation process, stored locally on your device only.

Profile photo — an optional photo you select from your photo library, stored locally on your device only.

Session and progress data — meditation session logs, streak tracking, play counts, volume preferences, and usage statistics stored locally on your device using Apple’s SwiftData and UserDefaults frameworks.

Device information — your app version is included with the subscription record described above, to help us support and troubleshoot subscriptions. In addition, if you choose to send feedback via email, the app includes basic device information (app version, iOS version, device model) in the email draft to help us troubleshoot issues. This information is only sent if you choose to send the email.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Affirmism does not collect, transmit, or have access to: your location data, contacts, browsing history, health data, biometric data, advertising identifiers, or any data from other apps on your device. We do not use cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting technology. We do not collect or transmit your voice recordings, written affirmation text, session data, or any usage information — these remain exclusively on your device.

How Your Information Is Used

All information collected by Affirmism is used solely to provide and personalize your experience:

Your name is used to display a personalized greeting on the home screen. Your voice recordings are used to create personalized meditation sessions that combine your affirmations with binaural beats. Your written affirmation text is used to display daily intention prompts on the home screen. Your session data is used to track your meditation progress, streaks, and statistics. Your profile photo is displayed on your profile screen within the app. Play count data is used to surface your most-used content for easier access.

If you provided your name and email, these may also be used to send you occasional email communications about app updates, meditation tips, and wellness content from Soulful Healing LLC, and to tailor those emails to your subscription status (for example, a reminder before your free trial ends, or a follow-up if your trial ends without a subscription). You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time.

Data Storage and Security

The vast majority of data collected by Affirmism is stored locally on your device. We operate a secure server that stores only the subscription identifiers and contact details described above. We do not operate any server or database that receives your voice recordings, affirmation text, session history, play counts, or usage data — that information never leaves your device.

Information that may be transmitted off your device is limited to: your name and email address, if you provided them; your subscription status; and the Apple subscription identifiers described above, together with your app version. Your name, email address and subscription status are transmitted securely to Kit’s servers for the sole purpose of email communications; Kit maintains its own security practices and privacy policy, which can be reviewed at kit.com/privacy. The subscription identifiers are transmitted securely to and stored on our own server, operated by Soulful Healing LLC, and are not shared with Kit or any other third party. Your subscription purchase itself is processed by Apple, and payment details never pass through our systems.

Because the majority of your data is stored only on your device, it is protected by your device’s built-in security features, including your passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID. We use Apple’s SwiftData framework for structured data storage, which benefits from iOS’s built-in data protection and encryption.

Important: While we implement reasonable technical measures to protect your data within the app, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data. In the unlikely event that a vulnerability is discovered in the app that could affect your data, we will make reasonable efforts to address it promptly and notify affected users if appropriate.

Data Sharing

Affirmism shares very limited data with the following third-party email service provider:

Kit (Kit Inc.) — If you provide your name and email address, this information — together with your subscription status (your chosen plan, and whether you are in a free trial, an active subscriber, or a lapsed trial user) — may be shared with Kit for the purpose of sending you occasional app updates, meditation tips, wellness content, and subscription-related emails from Soulful Healing LLC. As our email service provider, Kit stores this information on Kit’s secure servers and processes it according to its own privacy policy at kit.com/privacy. No other data — including your voice recordings, written affirmation text, session history, play counts, payment card details, or any usage data — is ever shared with Kit or any other third party.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. Affirmism does not use third-party analytics tools, advertising networks, or tracking SDKs.

Microphone and Photo Library Access

Microphone — used solely to record your personal affirmations. The app will ask for your permission before accessing the microphone. Audio recordings are stored locally and are never transmitted.

Photo Library — used solely to allow you to select a profile photo. The app will ask for your permission before accessing your photos. Your selected photo is stored locally and is never transmitted.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device’s Settings app under Privacy & Security.

Children’s Privacy

Affirmism is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the app, please contact us so we can assist with deleting that information. Users between 13 and 18 must have parental consent to use the app.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your locally stored data remains on your device for as long as you use the app. You can delete your local data at any time using the following methods:

Delete My Data — available in the Profile section of the app. This permanently removes your name, email, profile photo, all recorded affirmations, written affirmation text, session history, streak progress, volume presets, and play count data from your device.

Delete individual recordings — available in the Library section for removing specific affirmisms.

Uninstall the app — removing Affirmism from your device deletes all local app data.

Once local data is deleted through any of these methods, it cannot be recovered. We do not retain any copies of your locally stored data.

Email service provider data: If your name and email were shared with Kit, deleting your data within the app or uninstalling the app does not automatically remove your information from their systems. To unsubscribe from emails, use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email you receive from us. To request complete deletion of your name, email, and any subscription status tags from Kit, contact us at support@affirmism.app and we will remove your information within 30 days.

Subscription records: the subscription identifiers stored on our server are retained while your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting and support purposes. Deleting your data within the app does not automatically remove this record. To request deletion, contact us at support@affirmism.app and we will remove your record within 30 days.

Your Rights

You have full control over your locally stored information at all times. You can: view and edit your name and email in the Profile screen; delete individual affirmation recordings from the Library; delete all local data using the “Delete My Data” option; remove the app and all local data by uninstalling Affirmism; unsubscribe from email communications at any time; and request deletion of your name, email, and subscription status tags from Kit by contacting us.

If you are a resident of California, the European Union, or another jurisdiction with specific data protection laws, you may have additional rights regarding the personal information shared with Kit, including the right to access, correct, or delete that information. Contact us at support@affirmism.app to exercise these rights.

Security Breach Notification

In the event that we become aware of a security vulnerability in the Affirmism app that could potentially affect the integrity or confidentiality of locally stored data, we will: investigate the issue promptly; release an app update to address the vulnerability as quickly as reasonably possible; and notify users about the issue through the App Store update notes and, where feasible, through in-app notification or email.

In the event of a breach affecting data shared with Kit (name and email), we will notify affected users via email and through the app within a reasonable timeframe, and will work with the affected provider(s) to contain and remediate the issue.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date. If we make material changes that significantly affect how your data is handled, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the app or via email. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes.
